For years, UK governments have assured us UK food security is robust. Shops are full of food. The official National Risk Register says there’s only one risk out of 89 facing the country that is food. Many food analysts disagree, saying this is complacent and we need to think more carefully about food matters. They argue food supply now faces a ‘polycrisis’ of climate change, geopolitics, prices, food ‘weaponisation’, cyber insecurity, declining home production, and Just-in-Time logistics fragilities.
