The team who brought you ‘Cinderella’ in 2022 (SPADS) are back with the classic tale of Aladdin! A story of good versus evil, heroes and villains, magical genie’s and of course a flying carpet; not to mention song, dance, laughs, some very messy slapstick and an outrageous surprise or two… Aladdin promises to be a magical ride for all the family.
Both SPADS and Broadway are committed to creating a fully-inclusive environment at the theatre. As such, there will be a Relaxed Performance of the Aladdin Pantomime for those in the community who may require a calmer environment when attending the production.
What is a relaxed performance?
A relaxed performance is a performance that is specially adapted to be accessible to a wider range of audiences, such as those who are autistic, those with a learning disability, or anyone with additional sensory needs.
How will it work?
At our Relaxed Performance the lights will be dimmed, but not turned off completely. The sound will be lowered, and our audience is welcome to enter and leave the auditorium freely if they feel overwhelmed. There will also be a chill out zone in our bar area for anyone who needs to leave the show for a quieter environment. Our team and the actors have thought carefully about what may need to change throughout the performance so that there are no sudden noises or loud music.
The audience will be smaller and we will be selling a limited number of tickets compared to our other shows. When booking, if you look at our seating plan the greyed out lines are seats that will be left empty.
